Rice field

Ricera fits nearly every diet, including diets for individuals with allergies and other sensitivities.

CASEIN and LACTOSE FREE

Lactose intolerance is a person's inability to digest lactose, the sugar found in milk. It is estimated that up to 75% of the world's population is lactose intolerant to some extent.

Casein, a milk protein, causes an allergic reaction in many people. More information on dairy sensitivity can be obtained by visiting Foodintol.com.

Ricera is a Vegan product, and contains no casein, dairy, or animal-derived ingredients. For more information about living a Vegan diet and lifestyle, please visit Vegan Action.

GLUTEN FREE/WHEAT FREE

Celiac disease (CD) is a genetic disorder. In people with CD, eating certain types of protein, called gluten, sets off an autoimmune response that causes damage to the small intestine. This, in turn, causes the small intestine to lose its ability to absorb the nutrients found in food, leading to malnutrition and a variety of other complications.

The offending protein, gluten, is found in wheat, barley, rye, and to a lesser extent, oats (WBRO). Related proteins are found in triticale, spelt, kamut. Refer to grains and flours Glossary for a more extensive list of both safe and offending grains.

For more information, please visit the Celiac Sprue Association.
